General Manager

Reports to : Managing Director

Location: Nairobi

             Managing the day-to-day running of the company, which involves, among other things, client and staff management; business promotion, company and project operations; and cost management with a view to growing both turnover and profit consistent with the company’s plans.   


  • Overall achievement of company business objectives and financial targets

  • Developing, writing and reviewing proposals/ reports/ presentations 
  • Presenting proposals and reports 
  • Handling client enquiries and issues
  • Reviewing new client briefs, discussing the appropriate approach & allocating work to the relevant teams
  • Marketing and selling the company’s services to existing and prospective clients
  • Reviewing progress and job updates with the office and field teams 
  • Resolving project and/or staff conflicts, problems or issues
  • Identifying, attracting and retaining talented staff
  • Conducting training programmes for staff
  • Evaluating, motivating and coaching staff
  • Reviewing business performance and development, organisation structure, and staff development strategy with the senior management team
  • Recommending appropriate business strategy changes to senior management
  • Implementation of agreed business strategy
  • Creating, maintaining and developing close business relationship with clients and suppliers
  • Monitoring competitive activity and recommending strategies and tactics to safe guard the company’s business
  • Cost control and recommending ways to improve operational efficiency
  • Dealing with all third-party publics in a manner that develops and enhances the company’s relationship with them


  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce, economics or related fields
  • Training in Field Marketing and Sales Promotions
  • Education in Management
  • Good analytical skills

  • At least 10 years’ experience in Marketing, Brand Management, Field Marketing, Sales Promotions or Advertising from reputable firms
